Financing Your Studies
We know that pursuing a graduate degree is an exciting but significant investment in your future. At Keck Graduate Institute, our goal is to provide you with a comprehensive and transparent understanding of the cost of attendance so you can make an informed decision.
We understand that financial concerns can be daunting, which is why we strive to make the process as straightforward as possible. Let us walk you through our cost of attendance information.
Tuition and Fees
As a graduate student at KGI, tuition and fees vary depending on the program you're interested in. Our website lists the cost breakdown by program so that you can estimate your expenses. Don't forget to budget for expenses like books and housing.
Financial Aid and Scholarships
We are committed to making your education affordable, and there are several ways to fund your studies. KGI offers a variety of financial aid options, such as merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, and student loans. Our financial aid office can assist you in navigating the financial aid process, and we encourage you to apply early to ensure you receive the maximum amount of aid possible.
Work-Study
KGI also offers work-study opportunities where you can gain work experience while earning money to help offset the cost of tuition.
Unexpected Expenses
As a KGI student, we understand that you may have unexpected expenses that go beyond basic tuition and fees. That's why we offer several allowable expenses that can be approved as additions to your student budget. To request an increase in your budget, please contact the KGI Financial Aid Office and request a Budget Increase Form.
Adjustments to the budget based on these expenses will be made once per academic year and will be funded through loan disbursements.
Here are the allowable expenses that may be approved as additions to your basic student budget:
- Increased books and supplies
- Dependent Care (child or elder care)
- Computer Purchase (One-time expense)
- Costs associated with a student's disability
- Unexpected medical/dental expenses for students not covered by insurance
