Introduction
Are you interested in how the brain works, or in learning more about people and the reasons for their behaviour? Our MA in Psychology will provide you with much-needed skills and competencies to fulfil your dreams.
- Duration: 1 year, Full-Time
- Mode of Delivery: Distance Learning; Hybrid; or Face-to-face
- Start Dates: September, November, January
- Application Deadlines: August 15th for September start; October 15th for November start; January 5th for January start
- Contact Hours: Average of 30 timetable hours live per 15 credit modules, and additional contact hours with lecturers and personal tutors on appointment.
The course modules cover the main areas of Psychology, from neuroscience to social psychology and quantitative methods, in order to provide students with solid knowledge and experience.

Program Outcome
The Programme is designed to:
- Equip students with an understanding of the multiple perspectives in psychology, including a scientific understanding of the mind, brain and behaviour.
- Engage learners in the analysis of contemporary issues in different fields of psychology and encourage students to learn and apply knowledge from current research.
- Promote the ability to critically evaluate methodologies, and ethical, conceptual, cultural, historical and current insights from core subject areas.
- Support students to develop knowledge and abilities in transferable areas, such as independent critical, creative and strategic thinking, confident decision-making and analytical skills, and communication skills.
- Provide students with an opportunity to learn in a stimulating and engaging environment, to promote employability, reflectiveness and self-awareness, through academic experience and a problem-solving approach.
- Equip students with the knowledge and tools to be independent successful learners, confident individuals and responsible global citizens, and therefore ready for a career in Psychology and other associated professions.

Program delivery
You will be assessed through a variety of coursework, from essays to projects, group posters to portfolios. No written exams in the mix!
We use a block teaching schedule, which allows us to concentrate on two 15-credit modules or one 30-credit module every 6 weeks. To promote engagement, students will attend group preparation classes in the morning, as a way of facilitating learning through independent research, peer feedback, and critical thinking.
